JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Missouri deer hunters harvested over 14,600 deer during the late antlerless portion of firearms deer season, which ran from December 7 to 15.
The Missouri Department of Conservation reports Pike County led the state with 477 deer harvested, followed by Callaway with 391 and Lincoln with 382.
This year’s total is down from last year’s 18,916 and falls slightly below the five-year average. Archery deer hunting remains open until January 15, and the alternative methods portion will run from December 28 to January 7.
