St. Joseph show named "Best Military Show Site"

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - St. Joseph’s Sound of Speed Airshow has been named the 2024 “Best Military Show Site” by the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds.

The prestigious honor recognizes the airshow held at Rosecrans Memorial Airport in September, which attracted thousands of spectators.

This marks the second time Saint Joseph has received the award, with the Thunderbirds also honoring the event in 2021.

The accolade highlights the efforts of the Missouri Air National Guard’s 139th Airlift Wing, the City of St. Joseph, Rosecrans Memorial Airport, and the Airshow’s Executive Committee.

St. Joseph stood out among approximately 75 military airshow sites to earn this year’s distinction, further cementing its reputation as a premier destination for aviation events.
