Addae Houston will get his first head coaching opportunity at Lincoln University in Jefferson City.

Former Northwest Missouri State women's basketball assistant Addae Houston is now the head coach of the Lincoln University women's basketball program.

Interim A-D Tim Abney made the announcement Thursday.

Houston will take his 17-years of coaching experience to a Blue Tiger team that's shown promise at times the last few seasons, but still struggles to consistently win games. Lincoln went 8-20 last season – its most wins in five years, and they haven't posted a winning record since 2012.

Houston heads to Jefferson City after working as an assistant at Division I Northwestern State. He was an assistant on Austin Meyer's staff at Northwest Missouri State for 4 years, and played for the Bearcats from 2004-06 under Steve Tappmeyer.
