ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - The United Way of Greater St. Joseph is calling for volunteers and book donations to support its Reading Adventure program, which connects children with reading volunteers and promotes literacy.

This semester, the program partners with nine local elementary schools, including Coleman, Hyde, and Parkway, to provide students with reading opportunities.

Volunteers are needed in January, February, and March and can choose to read with students once, a few times, or on a regular schedule.

Students participating in the program will also receive books to encourage reading at home. To volunteer or donate books, contact Jodi Flurry at 816-364-2381 or register online.
