CHILLICOTHE, Mo. - Chillicothe city officials and project partners will break ground on a new police headquarters on February 24, marking a major step toward modernizing law enforcement in the community.

The 11,600-square-foot facility, located at 624 Cherry Street, is designed by national architecture firm Hoefer Welker and is set for completion in early 2026.

The new headquarters will replace the current station and provide officers with updated resources to enhance public safety.

Police Chief Jon Maples says the facility is more than just a building—it’s an investment in the city’s future, offering improved security, training spaces, and modernized infrastructure.

Features will include a fully enclosed sallyport for secure transport, upgraded technology, and designated areas for public interactions and officer well-being.

City Administrator Rozanne Frampton says the project will ensure officers have the tools they need to serve Chillicothe effectively for generations to come.

The facility is being developed in partnership with Crossland Construction, BHC Engineering, and other regional firms.
