OXFORD, Mo. - A fatal crash in Worth County claimed the life of a 21-year-old man from Grant City and left another with serious injuries.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened at 2:13 a.m. Saturday on Route U, about a quarter-mile south of Oxford.
A 2011 Dodge Ram 2500 was traveling southbound when the driver, a 20-year-old man from Grant City, failed to negotiate a curve.
The truck veered off the east side of the roadway, struck an embankment, went airborne, and overturned multiple times. The passenger was ejected and pronounced dead about an hour later by the Worth County coroner.
The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to Truman Medical Center in Kansas City.
