JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Several communities in northwest Missouri are set to benefit from new funding as part of the state’s Community Development Block Grant program.
The Missouri Department of Economic Development announced over $25 million in grants for 52 improvement projects across the state, with multiple northwest Missouri towns receiving funding.
Hopkins will receive more than $524,000 to replace fire protection equipment, while Stewartsville was awarded over $617,000 for street repairs.
Rock Port and Forest City each received grants for demolition projects, with funding totaling nearly $430,000 combined.
Gov. Mike Kehoe said the grants align with the state’s priorities of improving public safety and encouraging economic growth.
The funds will support infrastructure repairs, stormwater drainage improvements, and new public facilities in small communities statewide.
