The first regular session of Missouri's 103rd General Assembly began on January 8th. Since then, ten new senate members have spent time with their twenty four colleagues hearing bills in committee and discussing those measures on the Senate floor.
Missouri Senate President Pro Tem, Cindy O'laughlin of Shelbina is among those who continues to tout House Bill 495....which relates to public safety. This is also the first proposal to reach the governor's desk this session.
Missouri Senate Minority Floor Leader Doug Beck of Afton says there have been other victories for other Missouri senators this year. The Fiscal Year 2026 state operating budget is due no later than 6 pm on May 9th. This year's General Assembly session offically comes to a close one week later.
