JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Missouri farmers have a new opportunity to grow their business by becoming authorized vendors through the Missouri Farmers Market Nutrition Program.

The program provides funds to low-income seniors and families receiving WIC  benefits to purchase eligible foods from authorized vendors at farmers markets.

In 2024, participating farmers earned an average of $760 through the program.

New farmers interested in joining must complete a one-hour pre-recorded training and pass a quiz to gain authorization to accept Senior and WIC FMNP benefits. For more details, visit agriculture.mo.gov.
