St. Joseph Chamber earns 5-Star Accreditation

St. Joseph Chamber of Commerce

The St. Joseph Chamber of Commerce was awarded a 5-Star Accreditation rating for sound policies, effective procedures and a positive community impact. Natalie Hawn, president and CEO of the St. Joseph Chamber of Commerce, said that this is the third time in a row that they have received a 5-Star Accreditation.

The accreditation process only happens every five years and is a very lengthy process that can take six to nine months for an extensive self-review. Kristi Bailey, director of communications and marketing for the St. Joseph Chamber of Commerce said they are very proud to have gotten this award.

Local chambers can be accredited with a three, four or five star rating. The St. Joseph Chamber of Commerce is one of five accredited chambers in Missouri, while there are only 187 accredited chambers in the United States. Hawn said that it is not an easy task to accomplish and it is a testament to the hard work and dedication of her staff, members and volunteers.

The chamber is supported by more than 1,200 members and creates an environment that allows businesses to thrive and the community to prosper.
