Webinar on growing summer vegetables by University of Missouri Extension

The University of Missouri Extension will be holding a webinar series on growing summer vegetables. The series will provide detailed information about warm season crops such as tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, melons, summer and winter squash, sweet corn, beans, and peas.

MU Extension Field Specialist in Horticulture, Justin Keay says the classes are designed to help small farmers maximize their success with summer crops. Class sessions will be held April 8th, April 10th, April 15th and April 17th. Keay says the final session will include a farmer discussion panel and a demonstration of how growers can use MU Extension's crop enterprise budgets to help evaluate profitability. Attendees will also learn about small-farm loan programs from the USDA Farm Service Agency.
