Falls City, Nebraska plans for Hot Air Balloon Festival

Plans are underway for this summer's Hot Air Balloon Festival in Falls City, Nebraska. The event takes place June 13th and 14th at Brenner Field. Executive Director of the Falls City Chamber of Commerce, Amber Holle says a Mega Kite Show put on by a group from Polo, Missouri, called Great American Kites will also highlight the weekend.

"They have kites that are 20 feet long and more. They even have one that is actually the size of a football stadium. They are really cool operations. Of course balloons don't like a lot of wind but kites do need wind so it provides a little entertainment during the day while we are waiting for the balloons to take off.", says Holle. 

Holle says most of the hot air balloon pilots come from the midwest region of the country.

"So we have pilots that come from all around the area as far as Oklahoma, most reside in either Nebraska, Missouri, or Kansas.", says Holle. 

Again, the Falls City, Nebraska Hot Air Balloon Festival will be June 13th and 14th. More information is available at  (fallscitychamber.com)
