Falls City is looking for volunteers for their new "Adopt A Park" program

The Falls City Parks and Recreation is currently looking for volunteers for their new "Adopt A Park" program. Falls City Parks and Recreation Director, Briar Burr, says April is a good time to initiate the program.

"Spring time rolling around and this is the time you focus on park clean up and getting everything ready for people to use the parks. Areas implement this, like I know Omaha and Lincoln here in Nebraksa use this program so we are going to very similar and spin off of what they're doing and make it our own.", says Burr.

Local business, clubs, organizations, and groups are encouraged to sign up to help Falls City Parks to look their best. Burr says the Adopt-A-Park program assists a limited staff in cleaning up their parks.

"Right now we have two full time staff personell that are doing general maintenence around the park like mowing and trimming tress. We don't really have anyone else dedicated other than them that oversee trash cleanup or with the storms that blow through with the sticks on the ground and takes time out of our schedule.", says Burr.
