The Missouri Department of Conservation is offering a free two-part fly fishing class this May at the Boone County Nature School.
Designed for beginners, the program will cover the basics of using a fly rod, tying your own flies, and how to “match the hatch” to find fish. The first session, on May 6 from 5:30 to 8 p.m., will focus on classroom instruction. The second session, on May 20 at the same time, will move outdoors for hands-on fishing practice at the school’s educational ponds.
The event is open to adults 18 and older. Registration is required.
