The Performing Arts Association of Saint Joseph has a new stage name, called 816 Live. While the organization’s legal name remains the same, it will now use 816 Live for all marketing and promotional purposes.
Founded in 1979, the Performing Arts Association has long been known for bringing top-tier entertainment to the St. Joseph area. Executive Director Paul Storiale says the new name reflects the group’s growing vision and renewed energy. He emphasizes the legacy isn’t changing.
"It's just growing, we want to be able to entertain as many people as possibe and have a wider reach. Also to bring people in from Kansas City. When they see that number, they are going to recognize it obviously and realize they are not that far from us. We share an area code, so drive on up here and see a show at the Missouri Theatre.', says Storiale.
The transition to 816 Live will be gradual. The lineup for the 2025-26 season will be announced on Thursday, but it’s already been revealed that country music legend Randy Travis will kick off the season.
