Annual Fish with a First Responder event

Nodaway Lake, just north of Maryville is the site for the annual Fish with a First Responder event coming up this Saturday from 9:00 am to 1:00pm.

Nodaway County Conservation Agent Ralph Jones says first responders from several different organizations in Nodaway County will be taking part.

"So you're looking at Maryville Police, University Police, Northwest Regional Comunciations, Highway Patrol, Missouri Department of Conservation, Nodaway Sheriffs Department, Maryville Fire, Nodaway Ambulence District, and I believe there may be some individuals from corrections as well.", says Jones.

Jones says the event is a great way for youth to get to know first responders in the region.

"Not all branches of responders get to interact with the community and especially the youth on a day-to-day basis. We want to let the kids see our faces and get to know us and throw a fun event for us and the kids involved.", says Jones.

Fishing Poles and Tackle will be provided along with a free lunch while supplies last.
Registration is free and youth 15 and under can register on-site upon arrival.
