Final week of 2025 regular legislative session in Jefferson City

The 2025 regular legislative session in Jefferson City is now in its final week. For some Missouri senators, only two items are still in play. Missouri Senate President Pro Tem, Cindy O'Laughlin, of Shelbina says House Joint Resolution 73, which proposes a constitutional amendment that would establish provisions relating to reproductive health care, and other house bills that would modify provisions relating to employee compensation, remain her priorities.

"We support life. We support moms. We support businesses. We support economic growth. We support jobs. We support all of those things.", says OLaughlin.

Senator Patty Lewis of Kansas City serves on the committee that heard testimoney for House Joint Resolution 73.

"However we had 5 witnesses in support of that bill. We had over 150 folks traveling across the state in opposition.", says Lewis.

Missouri's 2025 regular legislative session ends at 6PM on Friday.
