Tuition is increasing for all in the four-campus system of the University of Missouri

On Monday, the governing board of the University of Missouri approved a tuition increase for all students in the four-campus university system. This includes locations in Columbia, Kansas City, St Louis, and Rolla.

Chair of the Board of Curators, which oversees the university system, Todd Graves says the increases are necesary to keep the university "competitive regionally and nationally".

Tuition will rise by 5 percent for undergraduate students. Increases for graduate students and those in professional programs range from 2.6 to 5 percent.

Northwest Missouri State University is NOT a part of the University of Missouri, but it is a peer instituion and a public state school. Tuition at Northwest is generally lower than at most campuses of the University of Missouri, even before the latest increases.
