Approval came in for a new patrol boat for Mozingo Lake Park

City of Maryville

The City of Maryville is looking to acquire a patrol boat for use at Mozingo Lake Park. Council members voted to approve the purchase on first reading at this week's meeting. The city reassigns two officers from town to patrol Mozingo and the surrounding area during the summer months. The boat will be available for their use.
Currently, officers have access to both a patrol boat and jet skis, but Police Chief Mike Stolte says they need an upgrade.

Stolte said the current patrol boat spent more time in the shop two years ago than being in use and is showing signs of wear.

The approval is for a 2025 model put out by Excel Boats, which costs around 55 thousand dollars. The city will fund it through a designated Mozingo Patrol Fund, along with support from a 10 thousand dollar grant secured by the Police Department.
