Bullfrogs and green frogs beware!

The frogging season gets underway in Missouri next week and frog catchers with a small game hunting or fishing permit can bag as many as 16 frogs a day. Young folks and seniors are welcome to frog without a permit; that's anyone 15 and under, or 65 and older.

According to the Missouri Department of Conservation, there are many ways to catch a frog: from a pellet gun to a crossbow, a gig to a trotline. Or, you can just grab it.

The frogging season begins at sunset on Monday, June 30th and runs through September. The Conservation Department offers frog recipes on its website, including instructions for grilled and fried.

Frog hunting has been a long tradition in the state, and often takes place at night.
