Incentives for farmers who try new and emerging techniques in soil health and crop production

Cover crop

The University of Missouri Center for Regenerative Agriculture is offering funds to farmers who try new and emerging techniques in soil health and crop production.

About $3 million is available in the latest round of funding. It is on offer to farmers interested in using cover crops on their fields this fall, for a winter rotation. Ranchers interested silvopasture can also receive funds for planting trees on their land to shelter herds and increase soil health.

The application period for cover crop and silvopasture payments is through July 31 or whenever funding runs out. Applications will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Center for Regenerative Agriculture is a collaboration between politicians, scientists and farmers in Missouri to uncover new information and methods around sustainable agricultural production and spread ecosystem and economic benefits.
