Lawmakers are back in Jefferson City this week for a Special Legislative Session. Called by Governor last Tuesday, lawmakers are being asked to address storm relief and create an incentive package for Kansas City's major league sports teams.

There's a bidding war going on for the next stadium location of the Chiefs and the Royals: Kansas wants to pull the teams to its side of the stateline, while many Missourians have made clear they want those team to STAY. That includes Governor Kehoe, speaking at a press conference last week, which follows:

The Governor has asked lawmakers to consider covering as much as half of the cost of a new stadium for the Royals, and upgrades to Arrowhead Stadium, home to the Chiefs. Some economic experts are skeptical of the value behind such incentive packages. Many say the entertainment economy would adapt if the teams relocated. However, lawmakers have largely voiced support for the Governor's plan, which will need bipartisan support.

They have 60 days to pass a package.
