Mound City approves their budget

It is budgeting season for local schools and municipalities as the Fiscal Year ends on June 30th.

Mound City adopted its budget on June 10th at a meeting of the City Aldermen. Conversation focused on increases to staff salaries.

Traditionally, those increase 5% each year to keep up with cost of living but city employees had asked for an additional increase in the coming year, citing the increasing cost of living as well as the stress of managing city affairs.
