Need something to do this 4th of July weekend? Mozingo Lake Recreation Park is hosting its 30th anniversary and Independence Day celebration.

Things get kicked off on Saturday July 5th, Park Director Jordyn Greenhaw says it'll be a fun day in the sun.

Greenshaw informed, "So the beach party on July 5th, starts at 11:00 AM and Mark Hendricks of Hendricks Entertainment will be there playing music. We will have sand volleyball, water, guns for the kids, and a foam cannon. Then also Pizza Ranch is sponsoring a pizza lunch.

Along with the Beach party, Greenhaw says there will be live music and a Firework Finale.

"So besides just the beach party that we will have on July 4th, we will have a hole in one contest at the Sea Crest 18. Anyone that golfs that day, whether it's nine holes or 18 holes, has the chance to win a car or a cash prize. And then on Saturday, July 5th, we are having the Optimist Club who's putting on a fishing tournament. We will have free Kool Kats. We will have the beach party, we'll have a bunch of different activities at the point, including bounce houses and face painting and country artists. Jimmy Harris will be performing and in the night we will have the largest fireworks display.", says Greenshaw.

Mozingo will be the hub for celebrations in Maryville, but firework displays and community gatherings are happening all across the region.
