As the calendar turns over into a new month, the Second Harvest Food Bank in St Joseph is preparing drop-offs for its Fresh Mobile Pantry program. The mobile pantries bring food deliveries to small towns and cities acorss the region. Here's a preview for August.
The pantry will come to Maryville on August 12th, and they'll be located at First United Methodist Church on Main Street.
Just two days later on the 14th, they'll be at the Grace Calvary Chapel in St Joseph.
On the 20th, the pantry will be in Chillicothe at the First Baptist Church.
Coming the next day on the 21st, there will be a drop-off in Cameron at NW Electric.
On the 22nd, it'll be back in St. Joseph at Frederick Boulevard Baptist Church.
Food Bank CEO Chad Higden says the program sees high demand. "You know, I think what you see right now is when we show up with the mobile pantry and a truck of food to distribute, there's a long line of cars. We will see 300-400 cars in remote, rural areas."
