Maryville Survey looks at Community Services

As the City of Maryville works on an update to its Comprehensive Planning Document, city staff is looking for resident input. It launched a website earlier this summer to serve as home-base for planning and outreach efforts. Each month, it rolls out a new survey focusing on a specific community topic.

For August, the topic is community services and image. The poll asks residents for their feelings about child and medical care access, support for specific city population groups, and other general information related to the community's look, feel, and quality of life. A consultant on the project with the urban planning group RDG, Megan Schott, says they've seen strong engagement from city residents.

" I feel like for our listening sessions, we had a really good turnout. I feel like we're getting very good turnout on our website traffic, on our polls, on our map interactive survey. It's one of the highest participations we see among the communities we work in this size. So I think that's really impressive and that's a nod to the city for sharing kind of what's going on and being proactive about communication.", says Schott.

The planning process will continue through the fall, with a final plan drafted for adoption this winter. Schott invites the public to stay involved.

" Visit our website at Maryville2045.com and take our surveys. They are posted monthly. You can usually catch the last months if you missed them, so we'd love to hear from you on that platform.", says Schott.

The survey takes only a few minutes to complete.
