Park updates always make a splash in Saint Joseph, particularly when they feature a fountain.

The city that loves its parks is celebrating upgrades to Corby Pond next Monday evening with a ribbon-cutting at 6 PM. Extensive renovations to the area began in 2022, and include a new shelter for educational events and gatherings, a new restroom facility, and updated docks on the water.

Fountains were also added to the center of the pond during the multi-year project. Corby Pond sits in a leafy grove, surrounded by forest, on the city's parkway system.

It is a popular spot for urban fishing and other recreation.

Earlier this week, the City Council approved an 800,000 dollar project replacing an old tennis court with pickleball facilities in the nearby Corby Grove.

If you miss the ribbon-cutting, visit the pond next Thursday for the August Party on the Parkways concert featuring music from the St Joseph Symphony.
