Serena Sundell's storied basketball journey took another leap Monday night.

The guard from Maryville, MO became the ninth WNBA draft pick in Kansas State history. The Seattle Storm selected Sundell 26th overall.

Sundell was one of 16 prospects on hand live for the draft being hosted from The Shed at Hudson Yards in New York City. She earned the opportunity after etching her name along the all-time greats at Kansas State.

The two-time First Team All-Big 12 guard was also named to All-America squads by the WBCA and Associated Press after averaging 14.1 points, 4.4 rebounds, and a nation-leading 7.3 assists per game. Sundell passed Shalee Lehning for most career assists with 811. She also set the school record with games played and career starts at 139.

The Storm bring in Sundell looking to build off a 25-15 record and playoff berth in 2024.

Seattle begins its preseason schedule May 4 against the Connecticut Sun.
