Ahead of a playoff matchup between two historic NCAA Division II football programs, John Coffey spoke with the man that built Northwest Missouri State football into a powerhouse in the late '90s for today's Morning Conversation.
Former Northwest head football coach and athletic director Mel Tjeerdsma talked about the great past games against Grand Valley State. Tjeerdsma says these teams are two of the best heavyweights of Division II, and that both schools take a lot of pride in what they do and he has great respect for Grand Valley.
This is the first time since 1984 that the Bearcats will play in Allendale, MI. Tjeerdsma says it's a great facility and a great atmosphere that draws big crowds.
