When the Los Angeles Rams take the field in Atlanta Sunday afternoon for Super Bowl LIII, Northwest Missouri State University will be represented.

Matt Longacre will be the first Bearcat in the Super Bowl since Dave Tollefson won a ring with the New York Giants in 2011. Tollefson also won the Super Bowl with the Giants in 2007. Each of those wins came against the New England Patriots, the same team that Longacre and the Rams face this weekend.

Longacre, a native of Omaha, NE, earned All-America recognition during his junior and senior seasons at Northwest, and left Maryville with the most career sacks (30.5) and tackles for loss (47.0) in Bearcat history.

Despite a hectic Super Bowl week schedule, Longacre made time to speak with us about his journey to the NFL and the upcoming game against New England. The full interview is available above.
