With only two KXCV Bearcat Coaches Shows remaining this Spring, this week's program took a look back at the career of one of the greatest Bearcats of all-time, met the coaches that mold Northwest athletes in the weightroom, and also heard from the university's new interim athletic director.

Justin Pitts completed his Bearcat career this spring with numerous program records, including points scored and assists. Now the Blue Springs native is preparing for a professional basketball career overseas. Pitts sat down with John Coffey Thursday evening to discuss his time at Northwest.

Joe Quinlin won two national championships in 1998 and 1999 as a Bearcat football player, and Jacob Vollstedt won three for Northwest in 2013, 2015 and 2016. Those two former linebackers are now leading the strength and conditioning programs for every Northwest varsity sports team. Quinlin, the head strength and conditioning coach since 2008, and Vollstedt, the strength and conditioning graduate assistant, joined the show to discuss their paths through Northwest, and what they do to help every athlete improve.

Andy Peterson was named interim director of athletics on Wednesday as Mel Tjeerdsma nears retirement on April 30. Peterson, a former Bearcat basketball player and current golf coach and associate athletic director of facilities, has been working on campus since 2011. He spoke with John Coffey about the new opportunity leading the Bearcat athletic department.
