Northwest 13, UNK 0

No. 1 Northwest Missouri State football ran its win streak to 33 consecutive games with a 13-0 victory over the University of Nebraska Kearney Saturday afternoon.

The Bearcat defense was stellar once again, limiting the Lopers to just 58 yards of total offense in the contest.

UNK quarterback Steve Worthing was held to just 2-22 passing for 20 yards, and he was intercepted on a diving attempt by Eddie Richey. Nick Hess also sacked Worthing twice, and Ben Spaeth brought the quarterback down once.

Northwest's offense was held in check for much of the day, but Shane Williams hauled in the game's lone touchdown on a 6-yard reception from Zach Martin.

Williams finished the day with seven receptions for 75 yards. Martin threw for 222 yards, a touchdown and an interception on 30-42 passing.
