Northwest 51, Lindenwood 84

Northwest women's basketball was eliminated from MIAA postseason contention Thursday evening in an 84-51 loss to Lindenwood.

The Lions (15-12, 7-10 MIAA) used a 24-0 run from midway through the first quarter into the second quarter to take a commanding 34-8 lead.

As a team, the Bearcats shot just 29.6-percent from the field in the loss. Meanwhile, the Lions hit 52.5-percent of their shots and outrebounded Northwest 43-26.

The 'Cats were led by Jaelyn Haggard with 10 points, four assists and no turnovers.

Mallory McAndrews added nine points on 3-6 three-point shooting.

Northwest caps the season Saturday in Jefferson City against Lincoln. Tip off is set for 1:30pm. Pregame on KXCV-KRNW begins at 1:10pm.
