After earning back-to-back wins, Northwest ran into a tough Lindenwood squad Saturday afternoon, and lost for the first time in two weeks, 84-56.
The Bearcats (3-18, 2-11 MIAA) trailed just 14-12 near the end of the first quarter when the Lions went on a 16-0 run to pull away. Northwest got back within 14 points of Lindenwood after a Kaylani Maiava layup and Mallory McAndrews three-pointer, but the Lions outscored the 'Cats 18-7 in the final quarter.
Tanya Meyer led Northwest with 16 points and nine rebounds. Mallory McAndrews added 15 points on 5-10 three-point shooting.
The Bearcats go on the road Thursday evening for a tough matchup with Emporia State. Pregame on KXCV-KRNW is set for 5:10pm, followed by the opening tip at 5:30pm.
