Northwest 60, Central Oklahoma 47

Northwest put on a defensive clinic Saturday afternoon as they handed Central Oklahoma a 60-47 loss in the second MIAA game of the season.

The Bearcats (8-0, 2-0 MIAA) held UCO to just 12 points in the first half as they jumped out to a 19-point lead at the break.

From there, Northwest was able to cruise to its eighth win of the season, and 19th consecutive victory dating back to February 23, 2017.

Justin Pitts capped the weekend with 17 points, six rebounds, five assists and three steals. In two games against the MIAA's Oklahoma schools, Pitts totaled 52 points, 13 assists, 10 rebounds and six steals.

Chris-Ebou Ndow scored 13 points and pulled down nine rebounds, while Brett Dougherty and Joey Witthus added nine points apiece.

The Bearcats' first conference road games are coming this week at Missouri Western Wednesday and Central Missouri Sunday.

Wednesday's game in St. Joseph will begin a 7:30pm. Pregame on KXCV-KRNW will start at 7:10pm.
