Northwest 84, Winona State 59

Northwest men's basketball posted its best shooting night of the young season in an 84-59 win over Winona State.

The Bearcats (4-0) used a 12-0 run through the first four minutes of the game to put the Warriors in an early hole. That lead grew to 18 points after a Joey Witthus three-pointer with 11:10 to go in the first half.

The first half lead reached as many as 27 points as the 'Cats coasted into halftime.

Northwest shot 57.9-percent from the field throughout the night.

Trevor Hudgins continued his torrid start to the season with 25 points and 11 assists. The redshirt freshman from Manhattan, KS is averaging 23.5 points per game through his first four collegiate contests.

Witthus dropped 21 points, including six three-point makes. 

Ryan Hawkins added 14 points, and Ryan Welty had 12 points.

The Bearcats make their home debut Friday, November 16 at 7pm against Truman State. The game will be broadcast on KXCV 90.5 and KRNW 88.9 with Bearcat Pregame presented by Impact Interiors starting at 6:40pm.
