Northwest ran its win streak to 18 games in a 85-57 rout of Nebraska Kearney Thursday night.
The Bearcats (18-0, 8-0 MIAA) have won nine consecutive road games, and hold a two-game lead in the MIAA standings on Pittsburg State and Fort Hays State.
The 'Cats were hot offensively in the first half knocking down 63-percent of their attempts from the field in the opening 20 minutes. At the break, Northwest led by 19 points.
The lead advantage over UNK grew to as many as 31 points in the second half.
Diego Bernard stepped up with a career-high 21 points along with eight rebounds in his seventh start of the season.
Joey Witthus poured in 23 points on 7-9 shooting. Ryan Hawkins added 13 points and eight rebounds, while Trevor Hudgins finished with seven points and six assists.
Northwest continues its road swing Saturday in Hays, Kansas. The Bearcats and Fort Hays State Tigers are set to meet at 4pm Saturday. Listen to the game on KXCV 90.5 and KRNW 88.9 with pregame beginning at 3:40pm.
