Northwest Missouri State opened the 2022-23 season with an exhibition loss to the University of Missouri 70-27 Wednesday night.

Both teams struggled to hit shots early on, nearly reaching the five-minute mark of the first quarter in a scoreless tie. The Tigers were able to end the opening quarter on a 15-0 run to take control of the game.

Molly Hartnett led Northwest with 8 points. Peyton Kelderman hit a pair of three-pointers and finished with six.

The Bearcats matchup with another Division 1 opponent Sunday afternoon in Des Moines, IA when they face Drake. Tipoff is set for 2pm. Pregame on KXCV 90.5 and KRNW 88.9 begins at 1:30pm.
