Northwest Missouri State earned an 11th straight win Saturday afternoon in St. Joseph 68-59 over Missouri Western.
The Bearcats (25-2, 18-2 MIAA) trailed by five at halftime, but outscored the Griffons 42-28 in the second half. The Northwest defense also limited Western to 0-8 from three-point range in the final 20 minutes of the game.
Diego Bernard, playing in his hometown of St. Joseph for the final time, scored 13 of his 15 points in the second half, and also passed out four assists.
Bennett Stirtz and Wes Dreamer each scored 16 points apiece to pace the Bearcats.
Northwest can clinch the MIAA regular season title Thursday with a win over Central Oklahoma. Game time is set for 7:30. You can listen on KXCV 90.5 and KRNW 88.9.
