Northwest Missouri State remained within striking distance of Nebraska Kearney throughout the night Thursday, but could never overtake the Lopers in a 68-57 loss.
The Bearcats (15-5, 9-5 MIAA) trailed by 10 in the first quarter, but worked to get back within one point of UNK early in the fourth quarter. The Lopers responded with an 11-3 run to push the lead back to nine points.
Northwest shot just 5-27 from three-point range in the loss.
Lindsey Kelderman, Kelsey Fields and Lainey Joseph each scored 10 points apiece.
The Bearcats are back home to face Fort Hays State on Saturday at 1:30pm. Pregame on KXCV 90.5 and KRNW 88.9 begins at 1pm.
