Northwest Missouri State withstood a second half charge from Minnesota Duluth to earn a 71-62 win in the NCAA Central Region Tournament semifinals Sunday night.
The Bearcats (29-4) led the game until Drew Blair hit a three-pointer with 12:30 remaining in the second half to give the Bulldogs their first lead of the game.
The two teams traded the lead a couple times until Daniel Abreu hit a layup and Mitch Mascari followed with a pair of free throws to give Northwest a four-point advantage. Minnesota Duluth briefly got back within two, but a 6-0 run gave Northwest a little breathing room that they would keep for the rest of the game.

Abreu finished with 17 points and five rebounds.
Isaiah Jackson tacked on 14 points and five rebounds.
Wes Dreamer added 12 points and four boards.
