Northwest Missouri State stifled Rockhurst's offense Saturday afternoon en route to an 80-57 non-conference win at Municipal Auditorium.
Playing on a neutral court, the Bearcats (4-0) held the Hawks to just 1-15 shooting in the opening quarter. Northwest went on a 17-3 scoring run to open a commanding double-digit lead that it would not relinquish.
The 'Cats reeled in 16 steals in the game, the most since November 29, 2014 against Rogers State. Molly Hartnett finished with five steals, along with 10 points and seven rebounds.
Lindsey Kelderman led the Bearcats in scoring with 15 points. Caely Kesten finished with 13, and Emma Atwood scored 10 points. Kelsey Fields narrowly missed a double-double with seven points and 12 rebounds.
Northwest returns home for a matchup with William Woods on Saturday, November 25.
