Northwest Missouri State track & field officially began the winter season, while basketball gets set for a couple more non-conference games before the holiday break.

Saturday's Mel Tjeerdsma Classic at the Hughes Fieldhouse featured record-setting races and numerous big performances from Northwest student-athletes. The team's next meet is January 18 at home in the Coach Richard Alsup Open. Bearcat head coach Brandon Masters discussed the opening weekend and the upcoming holiday break on this week's show.

The Northwest men's basketball team opened the MIAA season with a loss to Missouri Western, but a road win over Emporia State. They go on the road this week through Idaho and Washington for games against Northwest Nazarene and Central Washington. Head coach Matt Keeley sat down with John Coffey to highlight the upcoming road trip.

Bearcat women's basketball is off for finals week, then they hit the road for Fort Lauderdale, FL with games on December 19 and 20. Northwest head coach Austin Meyer discussed the matchups with Colorado Mesa and Nova Southeastern.
