This week's Bearcat Coaches Show covered a road rivalry matchup for Northwest basketball, more record-setting performances from track & field, and the opening weekend for softball and baseball.
Northwest's duo of Riley Witt and Max Touron have exchanged the program record in the mile this winter, with Witt taking the lead at the Washburn Open while Touron was winning the 800. The two student-athletes join head coach Brandon Masters to discuss the feats during this week's show.
Bearcat softball go the season rolling with two wins in five games in Arkansas. The Northwest bats scored early in four of five games, and head coach Naomi Tellez saw some pitchers step up throughout the weekend. Tellez and seniors Skylar Pieper and Cassidy Paulson joined us for an interview on the early results.
Northwest basketball gets set for another long road trip with Central Oklahoma and Rogers State on the schedule this week. Sisters and teammates Peyton and Lindsey Kelderman joined the program to highlight what they've seen from the team and this weekend's battles.
Byron Alexander collected his second career double-double on Saturday in a loss to Missouri Western. Alexander and head coach Matt Keeley joined John Coffey to talk about the matchup, and this week's road trip through Oklahoma.
Bearcat baseball opened the spring season with a 1-3 trip through Denver, CO against Regis University. Head coach Tony Jandron and shortstop Dylan Hufft broke down the first series and Hufft's impressive start batting .353.
The Northwest tennis season begins Friday, February 14 at William Jewell. Head coach Mark Rosewell and freshman Camilla Franzin joined the program to preview the upcoming slate of matches.
