This week's Bearcat Coaches Show highlights home contests for baseball and softball, the conclusion to the basketball season, and the upcoming indoor track & field national championships.

Northwest Missouri State softball opened up play at Bearcat Field Sunday with a doubleheader against No. 7 Augustana. Northwest battled, but lost both matchups 5-1 and 4-3, respectively. The Bearcats are back on their home field this week, this time against MIAA opponents No. 6 Rogers State and Northeastern State. Head coach Naomi Tellez and senior Lillie Filger join the show to discuss the opening slate of conference games.

Bearcat golf will be in Warrensburg next Monday and Tuesday for the second tournament of the spring. Northwest battled the elements in Edmond, Oklahoma in the first meet earlier this month. Now they can settle in at a course they play often in the Midwest Intercollegiate. Head coach Lathan Croy previews the upcoming tournament and the opportunity ahead.

Northwest basketball finished the year in the MIAA Tournament last week. Head coach Austin Meyer and company are shifting their focus to the 2025-26 campaign, and how to improve on this year's 15-15 season. Meyer joined us to talk about continuity within the coaching staff, the transfer portal, and more.

With the winter sports season winding down and the spring sports going full steam, director of athletics Andy Peterson made an appearance on the show looking ahead to the indoor track & field national championships, early results from Northwest baseball and softball, and his role as the national chair for the NCAA Division 2 Men's Basketball National Tournament.

After wrapping up a three-game set at home, Northwest baseball didn't have time to rest. The Bearcats finished a sweep of Washburn Monday, then got ready to make the drive to Liberty for a matchup with William Jewell tonight. Head coach Tony Jandron took some time to talk about the recent success, the depth of the lineup, and the approach with a midweek game following a tough MIAA series.
