Northwest Missouri State football dropped Saturday's Homecoming matchup to Central Missouri 35-30.
The Bearcats (4-4, 4-3 MIAA) outgained the Mules 451 total yards to 355, but turned the ball over twice inside the red zone on the way to their second straight loss.
Chris Ruhnke threw for 321 yards and two touchdowns on 31 completions, but his lone interception was returned 100 yards for the go-ahead score in the third quarter.
Jake Weber received the Don Black Award, which goes to the Homecoming game MVP, after catching six passes for 93 yards and a touchdown.
Northwest has a bye week next Saturday, October 26. The Bearcats return to the field November 2 against Northeastern State.
