The Northwest Missouri State University football team rallied from an early 14-point deficit to secure a 32-20 win over the No. 25-ranked Fort Hays State University Tigers at Bearcat Stadium.

This victory marked Northwest's first win of the season.  The win comes after a strong passing game and a consistent rushing attack.  The defense was solid against the Tigers, helping the Bearcats get that victory.

Bearcat quarterback Chris Ruhnke completed 33 passes—tying for the second-most in school history—connecting with 12 different receivers. He threw for 273 yards and two touchdowns. Tank Young contributed significantly with two rushing touchdowns and led the team with 57 yards on 14 carries.

Next weekend, Northwest will face the Missouri Southern Lions on the road, with kickoff scheduled for 2:00 p.m. in Joplin, Mo. The game will be broadcast on the Bearcat Radio Network starting at 1:00 p.m. with the pregame show.
