Northwest 65, Fort Hays State 72

Northwest Missouri State clawed back from double-digit deficits in both halves against Fort Hays State, but the Bearcats couldn't make enough plays down the stretch as the Tigers prevailed 72-65.

The Bearcats (4-13, 2-6 MIAA) trailed 14-4 early in the game, but used a 10-0 run to knot the teams with 12:36 left in the first half. Fort Hays pushed its lead out again, this time to 13 points, with 6:07 to play. Northwest began to push back. After back-to-back threes from Marcus Glock and a free throw by Emorie Knox, the 'Cats were down just four with 2:30 remaining in the game. Northwest compiled two more stops, earning chances to cut the deficit in half, but the Bearcats turned the ball over twice and the Tigers hit a three to push the advantage back to seven.

Glock led the charge for Northwest hitting five-of-eight three-point attempts and finishing with 18 points.

Byron Alexander posted 14 points on a perfect four-of-four shooting day, plus six rebounds and four assists.

Trey Moala chipped in with 11 points and six assists.

Northwest returns home Wednesday to face Washburn at 7:30pm. Pregame on KXCV 90.5 and KRNW 88.9 begins at 7pm.
