Northwest Missouri State took it to Chadron State in the second half and picked up its first victory of the season 74-57 at Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City.
The Bearcats (1-2) led by four points at halftime, but found their groove in the final 20 minutes.
Northwest shot 54-percent after the break and used a 22-2 run to put the game out of reach.
Luke Moustakas and Spencer Schomers each put up career-highs in points with 21 and 18, respectively.
Emorie Knox added his first double-double as a Bearcat with 10 points, 10 assists and only one turnover in 34 minutes of work.
Jack Ratigan also snared 12 rebounds off the bench in the win.
The Bearcats will wrap up the weekend against the University of Colorado Colorado Springs Friday at 2pm.
