Northwest Missouri State ran its win streak to five in a row with an 80-55 trouncing of William Jewell Saturday in Liberty.

The Bearcats (6-1) led by eight at the end of the first quarter, and used a 12-2 run early in the second to push in front 34-13. Northwest shot 11-17 (64.7%) in the second quarter to hold a 43-24 advantage at halftime.

The Cardinals couldn't recover in the second half and trailed by as many as 28.

Four Bearcats scored in double figures, led by Molly Hartnett with 12 points. Caely Kesten had 11, and Lindsey Kelderman and Kelsey Fields finished with 10 points apiece.

Emree Zars, a transfer to Northwest from William Jewell, put up nine points, six rebounds and three assists in her return to the Mabee Center.

Northwest is off until next Saturday, November 30 when they play Mission University at 2pm.
